This week our baby's lungs are continuing to develop, getting her ready for breathing--and wailing. To help with all that breathing and wailing, her teeny little nostrils are starting to open up and her vocal chords are on their way toward saying her first words--which will of course be, "Thank you for giving me life; you're the best parents ever." Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries are giving baby a healthy pink glow. She's also soaking up my antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink -- perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.
Week 25 was certainly an eventful one. Dave was working in Idaho for the week and I stayed at my parents. In non-pregnancy news.... it's official.... I'm now a New Jersey resident. After a lot of nagging from my hubby, I finally got a NJ license. I also started to do some projects for the baby's room. Now I am not a crafty person, but I wanted to make some things for her nursery. I'll post about my craft projects soon. Dave got home on Saturday night and picked me up from my parents. On Sunday we went to Pottery Barn Kids and picked up our rug, which barely fit into the car. Then we hung curtain rods (not easy when we realized we had to get through sheet metal) and installed a firmer rod in the closet. A very successful weekend :)
Heading to our day of dr. appointments...
Pregnancy: 25 weeks
Size of Baby: 13 inches, 1 pound and 9 ounces (the size of an eggplant)
Gender: Girl and it was confirmed at our ultrasound yesterday. She is still a she.
Sleep: Still just ok. Even when I get a "good" night's sleep I don't feel rested when I wake up. Just par for the course.
Cravings: Nothing new this week
Feeling: I feel pregnant and all that it entails
Health: Well I am two weeks away from my 3rd trimester and I can tell. I'm starting to get much more fatigued and having issues being on my feet for a long time. After working on the nursery for a couple ours my feet were killing me! I happened to be wearing argile socks and when I took them off I add the argile imprint all over my calfs and ankles hahaha. See below...
Movement: Getting so much stronger. Not only can Dave feel her punching my belly, but we can watch her moving around! It looks like a pinball machine under my skin... very cool.
Belly: Ever expanding :) not nearly as itchy this week
Best Moment this Week: Shopping with my Mom for baby girl's nursery
What I Miss: Wine
Next Appointment: Friday, April 2nd at the Ob.
xoxo
Jill
