Baby Girl's Closet

On Saturday we decided to prep the closet in the nursery. Our goal was to remove all non-baby items, get storage containers for the shelves, add another rod to hang clothes, and buy a storage unit for... well storage.

First a before shot of the closet...

Then we added containers to the shelves on the left. We got the containers at BuyBuyBaby.

Then we put in a tension rod to add more hanging room for the baby clothes. The rod is not quite sturdy enough so Dad and I will be making a trip to Home Depot in order to get something that can hold some more weight. I mean let's be honest; our little lady is going to have a lot of outfits to hang up :)!!!

The next project was putting together a storage unit. I searched around and all the pieces I found were a couple hundred bucks. Then I found exactly what I was looking for at Target. It was $49.99 and said "some assembly required". Well we opened up the box and found 6 large panel pieces, 6 small panel pieces, 60 nails, 20 screws, 30 dowels, and a bunch of other little parts. It was definitely more than "some assembly"!!! So we turned on some tunes, got the tools, kicked Mannie out and got to work. An hour later we finished and are thrilled with the result. It fits the closet perfectly and was exactly what we were looking for.

The assembly...

Almost done, before installing the back panels...

Final result after adding in a couple storage bins and putting it in the closet (a perfect fit).

The whole closet, all ready to add lots of cute baby gear!

So that is one big job done. Check!
